And the game did this properly with its SR system. OW’s golden phase eas when everyone was dueling and the fights were jam packed with action. everybody said that the game was the best its ever been balanced before, and to just leave it at that, but the devs didnt listen. the ONLY time during those remaining years where the game was at its best was before that october 2022 patch where cass got 25 extra health and bap got omega buffed. that is what really made the game such a bore, when GOATS finally died players were like “finally the game can be good again” but then the release of sigma, then double shield came, and it was just so…slow… and horrific. nothing died, so players were just looking at the enemies not dying while they didn’t die either, so it was just boring.ĭouble shield was the real kicker. even with discord orb nothing died, and thats why it seemed so slow. it was a terrible meta because every team rushed but nothing died and everything was just CC and even more CC. it was just terrible because it was both fast and nothing died, so thats why it was killing the game. the reason why it seems like it was slow, was because people didnt die. GOATS as a meta actually was just rush 2.0 with LOADS of CC and healing. I do agree here pretty much, but the only thing i sorta disagree with was with GOATS. While it did counter dive it brought the game down to a much slower pace. The worst times was when goat and the double shield bunker meta were considered meta. But it had issues where the enemy was often wiped out much too quickly. OW was critically acclaimed as GOTY when dive was prominent. Think back to when OW had its worst times and best times. ![]()
